I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist who operates from a humanistic and integrative framework. I hold a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Masters in Psychotherapy, and an Honours BA in Applied Social Studies and Social Care. With over a decade of experience, I have worked with both adolescents and adults facing a range of challenges, including those from difficult backgrounds, experiencing homelessness, and dealing with substance abuse issues.
Throughout my career, I have worked with clients in the community grappling with a variety of complex issues, such as anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, self-acknowledgment, separation, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, neurodivergence, existential concerns, bereavement, self worth, setting boundaries, and sexual/gender identity issues. I firmly believe that individuals possess the capacity to heal and thrive when provided with the appropriate support, environment and tools. To facilitate this, I create a nonjudgmental and empathetic space where clients can feel safe and comfortable.
One of my passions is working with cultural awareness and sensitivity, which I see as an essential component of effective therapy. I employ a client-centered approach in my practice, tailoring my methods to meet the specific needs of each individual. As a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist, I draw on various therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt therapy, existential therapy, and mindfulness techniques, to best support my clients on their journeys.
