Greetings,

My name is Helen Gibson, by highest qualification I hold a Masters Degree from Maynooth University in Dramatherapy.

I envisage a world where all are equally valued and every opportunity is open to those who are motivated by their passions and values. Each living in alignment and harmony of their highest selves.

I began my working life in finance, but soon realised that I was more interested in the figures in humanity than the ones on paper. I then focused upon serving and working for the benefit of others. I have experience working in: local communities, schools, youth centres, hospitals, residential and care settings.  and a variety of other settings. I expanded my interest in the therapeutic elements of the creative arts, which led to achieving my MA. I work with all members of society from those whose time has begun to those whose time on this planet is almost over, working with intellectual, multi sensory & physical disability, members of the armed forces and their families, gaining experience in a variety of settings.

I am passionate about my work having facilitated youth drama sessions creating original theatre pieces for production. Encouraging young people to explore their realities within the safety of the creative arts.

Continued professional development has seen me gain diplomas in Therapeutic Play Skills, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Management, becoming a trainer in Mental Health First Aid (Armed Forces). Completing certified practitioner courses in Life Coaching, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Progarmming) & Mindfulness. I am currently continuing and deepening my understanding of mindfulness , meditation & NLP through further study and practice. I am a certified meditation teacher.

At the core of my professional and personal development has been the knowledge that humans are wonderful beings, who at times need not only to be reminded of this but may also need some support.

Holistic healing remains my primary focus, healing of mind, body and soul, to enable us to live authentic lives. I understand that sometimes before we can move forward we must heal past hurts & traumas. I have long believed that to 'be in therapy' for many years may not be the most beneficial way to live a life. Hence my passion in creating a space that can both explore and the past and move you forward aiding you to create your future in alignment with your core value and vision.

Alongside academic development continuous study in Reiki (Master III), Angel Reiki & Crystal Healing and the pursuit of deepening my intuitive abilities.

I was honoured to be able to volunteer at Pause, the youth mental health drop in centre, run by the Childrens Society. I also volunteered for the Healing Hands Network offering a Debriefing & support service for therapists returning from working with survivors of war in Sarajevo and other destinations. I am one of the co creators of Anam Cara, who offer a range of services for those who are struggling to maintain positive wellbeing with open zoom drop ins.

I was priviledged to be an Ambassador for The Peoples Health Alliance, a wonderful initiative which supports health and wellbeing, encouraging personal responsibility for our health. First Assist BeingWell (FAB – a mental health awareness course) was developed for the PHA hubs.

Authentic discovery does, when necessary, work with first class associated professionals from a variety of applicable disciplines to ensure that you receive the very best service.
Although, as yet unpublished I have written stories for children & plays for theatre, I have also performed on stage in the Dublin Fringe Festival and in the UK.
I am a fully accredited member of the 'Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapist'
