I’m Zoë (she/her) and I am a qualified counsellor & psychotherapist. I’m Irish with Afro-Caribbean heritage and currently based in the UK. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of South Wales.
In my therapy practice I work integratively, weaving together relational psychodynamics and existential theory. As we work together, we will form a relationship, and that relationship might mirror other relationships in your life. We will explore patterns that emerge and link familiar feelings and reactions to past experiences. All of this can be used as a tool to help you understand yourself and the ways you relate to others better. Existential theory helps us to understand our place in the world, how we make meaning and how to make sense of difficult experiences which throw us off balance.
As a therapist, I am interested in all areas of study that attempt to make sense of how we exist in the world and with one another. I believe having a strong awareness of the socio-political systems and structures we live within is just as important as understanding our internal and interpersonal worlds and this will always be a consideration in our work together.
