Emelda Obidike is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She is originally from Nigeria but has been living in Ireland for more than 10 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Anambra State University in Nigeria. But Emelda's desire to help people make changes to their lives to live a more fulfilled life led her to train as a psychotherapist. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University London. Emelda is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Her therapeutic practice is conducted within the IACP code of ethics.
Emelda is committed to delivering client-centred support that gradually empowers the clients and enables them to make an informed decision. She places great importance on building a relationship with her client and believes that the trusting therapeutic relationship between the therapist and client is the vehicle for transformation and change.
Emelda practices an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy, which means she selects the techniques from different therapeutic orientations best suited to a client's particular problem or needs. She firmly believes that integrative counselling helps to promote healing and facilitates wholeness. Ensuring that all levels of a person's being and functioning ( mental, physical & emotional health) are maximised to their full potential.
