Sylvia is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. She holds a degree in Humanistic Counselling and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Her background includes working in the mental health sector within the National Health Service (NHS) and as a Mental Health Adviser at a university.
Sylvia has a passion for helping individuals in their 20's and 30's with a desire for change and healing to explore their thoughts, feelings, experiences and learn more about themselves.
Her approach is integrative, drawing from person-centred, humanistic, and mindfulness techniques. By integrating these approaches, she creates a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences. She believes in the inherent resilience and growth of every person which can be achieved through self-awareness and a deep connection to self.
While she works with all adults, she states it has been rewarding counselling young adults within the black community and other marginalised groups to navigate the relationship with themselves, others and environments.
