Vanessa is a passionate therapist specialising in child therapy and parent support. She is a Chartered Educational Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, bringing expertise in psychology and education. With nearly a decade of clinical experience, Vanessa has worked in various settings, including schools, community mental health, and children's residential care facilities in Ireland and South Africa. She utilises an integrative approach, incorporating psychodynamic, humanistic, systemic, and behavioural models. Her therapeutic methods include child-centred play therapy, gestalt play therapy, sandtray therapy, and AutPlay®. Vanessa has completed additional training in areas such as Child and Adolescent Counselling, Parent-Infant Psychotherapy, the Children and Residential Experiences (CARE) programme and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. She is passionate about working with neurodiverse children, adolescents, and families facing emotional difficulties, attachment difficulties, developmental trauma, and barriers to learning, and is interested in attachment theory, adoption and fostering and the role our early relationships play in shaping our psyche.
