Dr Edworthy has experience working with children across all ages, as well as working systemically with families and the wider system. Her interest in working with children developed over 40 years ago working as a paediatric nurse, a midwife and then as a senior clinical psychologist. Dr Edworthy undertook her nursing, midwifery and doctorate in clinical psychology.

Dr Edworthy worked as a senior clinical psychologist in Torbay Healthcare Trust, UK, followed by 14 years in Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street Hospital, Dublin before setting up her online service for parents.

Dr Edworthy has a wealth of experience in working with children and their families with psychological disorders and has developed sound clinical skills combined with an approach that is sensitive and flexible. She has treated children with a range of anxiety disorders, depression, functional or unexplained disorders, enuresis, encopresis, challenging behaviours and many more. Her work has been informed by cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodymic psychotherapy, community perspective, systemic principles including narrative therapy.

As a black clinical psychologist, she has had a lifelong interest in the under representation of Black and Minority Ethnic people in psychological services and the barrier that exist in black people accessing talking therapies. This has led her to lecture on the topic for trainee clinical psychologists, nursing staff and qualified clinical psychologists/healthcare professionals.
